What is Metabolism?
Metabolism is the chemical process in your body that turns the food you
consume into the energy needed to run the functions that keep you
alive.
By converting the food and nutrients you eat into energy for breathing,
blood circulation, cell growth and repair, and everything else, Metabolism
works 24/7 to keep you physically active even when you are resting or
sleeping. and Metabolism did this to survive.
Even if you do nothing, your body will continue to burn calories. This
resting metabolic rate is much higher in people with more muscles. Every
pound of muscle consumes about 6 calories per day to maintain itself, while
per pound of fat burns only 2 calories per day. Over time, these small
differences will accumulate.
The faster your metabolism, the more calories you burn.
Mistakes that slow Down Metabolism:
'Importance of metabolism' in our body is very essential,
Metabolism Control and Decide our Health. Many of us neglect our
metabolism, but managing it properly is very important.
Now as we know in simple words that we consume food, and metabolism a
complex chemical reaction in body convert/burn food nutrients into energy,
the released energy is highly important for survival of our lives, as we all
know, heat is life and cold is death.
So we have to take care of our Metabolism in a way that it keep working as
per body requirements.
Here are some Mistakes that we made while eating and consuming Food:
'Metabolism is Working' when we are resting or sleeping, Even
then, Our Body need some amount of Energy that our Organs keep functioning
like: heart pumping, blood circulation, breathing, digestion,
absorption, etc.”
Improper Meal Timings:
People think that cutting back on their diet or eliminating fat from their
diet will help them lose weight, but on the other hand, it is very important
to eat in a confined space and get the right amount of fat. If you don't eat
anything, your metabolism slows down and you can save energy. Eating
decreases the desire to eat more.
“It’s important to have small and frequent meals with nearly similar
timings everyday to keep metabolic rate high.”
Lack of Physical Activity:
Physical Activity, Brisk Walk, Exercise, Yoga, is necessary for good
digestion, which 'Boost Metabolism Rate'.
Sitting for long, even for more than 20 minutes, reduces metabolism.
Stress can slow Metabolism:
Stress not only slows the metabolism but also causes a lot of other health
problems.
"It is normal to have a certain amount of stress, but long-term stress will
indeed slow down metabolism, thereby affecting digestion and reducing work
efficiency." The body produces more insulin and the stress hormone
"cortisol." Both will accelerate fat storage, thereby increasing
weight.
Lack of Fluid intake:
Water is essential for proper cell functioning hence lack of it reduces the
metabolic rate.
we must drink 10 to 12 glasses of water or other fluids, Juices having
natural nutrients should be in our diet in a day.
Should avoid Drinking Water or fluids immediately after meal, there should
be Gap of 45 minutes at least after consuming full meal.
Ignoring Breakfast:
Many people have the habit of skipping breakfast because we are not hungry.
But breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast should be
important but not light.
Who skip breakfast have a slower metabolism and conserve energy when they
should burn the most calories.
A breakfast rich in protein and fresh fruits will help you.
Foods that increase metabolism
Eating healthy Foods Rich in Nutrients Esp. Proteins and Vitamins
can help boost metabolism.
Here are some Foods and Fruits list that helps to boost and increase
metabolism and boost metabolic rate as well Burn Calories to Generate Energy
necessary for good metabolism.
1- Protein-rich foods can boost metabolism at mealtime. Good sources of
protein include lean beef, turkey, fish, white meat chicken, tofu, nuts,
beans, eggs, and low-fat dairy products.
2- Ginger and Ginger Tea.
3- Foods Rich in Minerals (Nuts and
seeds, Avocados, Beans, Apple, Banana, Apricot etc.)
4- Chili peppers.
5- Eggs.
What nutrients helps the body with metabolism?
1- Vitamins ( B1, B2, B6, B12,) People must regularly eat foods that
contain B vitamins to meet their daily needs.
2- Vitamin D.
3- Calcium.
4-Iron.
5- Magnesium.
Taking these vitamins and minerals will not necessarily improve your
metabolism. However, they will help ensure proper nutrition and correct
existing deficiencies, which helps prevent accidental weight gain and
maintain a healthy metabolism.
